It was decided at the Society AGM in Innsbruck during SAM2012 to start negotiating with MODELS to hold SAM2014 with MODELS2014.

By the Society AGM in Montreal during SDL2013, a draft co-sponsorship agreement had been prepared for signing by ACM and IEEE (as "owners" of MODELS), and the 2013 Society AGM confirmed SAM2014 should be held with with MODELS2014 in Valencia, Spain.
