t:=jim(i,x)
should read
j:=CALL fred(i,x) /*updates x, and returns an integer value*/
t:=CALL jim(i,x)
In SDL-2000 the CALL keyword is optional (when this does not create
ambiguities), and semi-colons can be used between assignments in task boxes.
