Specifying models graphically is possible. The ITU-T specs define
the syntax and symantics for this.

You can build graphical models of SDL systems using tools like the
Telelogic Tau and simulate/target them. This is usually a lot more
better than doing the systems using "text" SDL. especially in very
big systems.

But on second thoughts, if what you meant was "modelling graphical
systems" using SDL. I would say that it would be difficult to say
and should be done on a case by case basis. Describing a graphical
user interface is better done by certain specialised languages that
are used for interface descriptions. However, if you are planning
to use SDL to describe your graphical interfaces, how good an idea
that would be, should be judged on a case-by-case basis. I am very
skeptical though.
